Novena for the Assumption of Mary

Mary gathers hearts… and she sees and loves all the dear ones who, over the past couple of weeks, have clicked on the prayer for the novena for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary that I posted two years ago.  She knows you and she loves you!  And so we begin… may your every intention be granted…through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to which the whole month of August is dedicated.

  1. I started the novena a few days ago and already I’ve had one intention answered – and in a better way than I had anticipated – and that’s almost always the way with heavenly wisdom, so much better than ours.

I’ve been enjoying all your posts. Bishop Bello’s book reminds me of the writings of Caryll Houselander – since they’re both writing about Our Lady that is not surprising.

I don’t think many of us could or would understand all these writers say since they write at a mystical level through mystical eyes, but your revelation re the altar cloths and Pia’s re the dream are very sound proof that little moments of mysticism are granted to those who with sincere hearts want to know and love more and enter into the beautiful mysteries of our faith. Such little moments are more tham enough to keep us on track, sure signs that we are travelling the royal road.

    Going over now to Pia.

  2. That is such a beautiful novena. It’s not too late to start it.. I prayed it twice for today. I pray novenas usually for the kids. I should’ve asked that daughter not miss the flight and then watching it snowball into missing the whole weekend, but that’s small potatoes, I guess.. I always ask for their return to the sacraments, though it seems impossible for some. I would love for Mary to have the credit for that, and if those who are away do return, it will indeed be from intercession. Ok, gonna hop over to MPD’s now, and see what’s going on.

A wonderful day to all looking in here.

  3. Ann, so true. Doesn’t it always leave us with a sense of wonder and a lighter heart when we see the originality in heaven’s responses and solutions. I’m glad you’re able to follow the posts here and are enjoying them; I agree with you, and his writing also reminds me of Catherine Doherty’s; we’re so blessed to have all these ones who can write so directly to our hearts and souls; what a gift they share and we receive. Ah, mystic moments…more than we deserve, yet I’m certain He wants to give us even more.

Carol, I’m so sorry the plans for a visit got messed up like that; how disappointing for all of you. I understand your novena focus; “seems impossible” is all too often our pitiful viewpoint, isn’t it, but we can take heart – that’s not in heaven’s vocabulary…
