July – Our Lady of Divine Providence

My little book, “Favorite Prayers to Our Lady”, by Anthony M. Buono, has prayers to Mary for each month of the year and each day of the week.  Each month and day has its own theme.  This is the prayer for July, dedicated to Our Lady of Divine Providence:

Mary,
Immaculate Virgin and Mother of Divine Providence,
keep my soul with the fullness of your grace.
Govern my life
and direct it in the way of virtue,
that I may fulfill the Divine Will.
Obtain for me
the pardon and remission of all my sins.
Be my refuge, my protection, my defense, and my guide
in my pilgrimage through the world.
Comfort me in the midst of trials.
Bring me safe through every danger.
Give me your sure protection in the storms of affliction.

Mary,
renew my heart spiritually,
that it may become a holy dwelling place
for your Divine Son Jesus.
Keep far from me every kind of sin,
negligence, carelessness, cowardice, and human respect.
You are the Mother of Providence
and the Virgin of pardon.
You are my hope on earth.
Grant that I may have you as my Mother
in the glory of heaven.

I will be away for a while, so I will close the comments on this site until I come back. Wishing you all a safe and peaceful rest of the month, and I’ll see you in August!

  1. A lovely prayer. Amen to it.

  2. Isn’t it? I love that little book.

  3. I am not familiar with that book, but is there one in there for Sept. 14? What is the theme for Sept.?

  4. Sheila, no, not for each individual day of the year, but the themes by day are (with a prayer for each):

Sunday (Our Lady of the Trinity)
    Monday (Our Lady of Grace)
Tuesday (Queen of the Angels and Saints)
    Wednesday (Spouse of St. Joseph)
Thursday (Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament)
    Friday (Our Lady of Sorrows)
Saturday (Our Lady, Queen of the World)

And the month of September is dedicated to Our Lady Queen of Martyrs.
