Day Seven

St. Louis de Montfort Preparation:

Day Seven of the 12 Preliminary Days, in which you endeavour to free yourself from the spirit of the world.

  • Prayers to be said today: Veni Creator and Ave Maris Stella
  • Choose your spiritual reading from: Matthew, Chapters 5, 6, 7; Imitation of Christ, Book I, Chapters 13, 18, 25; Book III, Chapters 10, 40
  • Your spiritual exercises: Examine your conscience, pray, practice renouncement, mortification, purity of heart; this purity is the indispensable condition for contemplating God in Heaven, to see Him on earth and to know Him by the light of faith.

“Where two or three are gathered”: Click on the arrow to enter into Day Seven, courtesy of Jennifer and Greg Willits of Rosary Army. May God continue to bless them in their apostolates.

“Jesus Christ gave more glory to God the Father by submission to His Mother during those thirty years than He would have given Him in converting the whole world by the working of the most stupendous miracles.  Oh, how highly we glorify God when, to please Him, we submit ourselves to Mary, after the example of Jesus Christ, our sole Exemplar!”  [True Devotion to Mary:  pg. 13, paragraph 18]

Immaculate Heart Preparation:

Some highlights from the reflection for Day Seven:

  • “My dear children, I come to call you forth in this mission for peace.”
  • “In this consecration, I will be given the avenue to make your desires to help this mission possible.  Come together under the guidance of my heart and my chosen shepherds.”
  • The central purpose of the consecration is to create a union.  Our Lady will give a special grace to instill this union.
  • This grace cannot be manifested in the perfection it was intended if the soul has not prepared the vessel to receive it in.
  • The soul must then acknowledge the purpose for which Our Lady brings this grace to us and the expectation of the fruits of this grace.
  • To become discouraged by the imperfections which you desire to correct would be to give in to a great illusion of Satan.
  • The promise of the consecration is the mark of the eternal bond of a pure FIAT.

  1. Just a note about seemingly innocuous comments from unknown commenters: Don’t immediately click on the identity, especially if the comment seems rather inappropriate for the level of the post, like “Have a nice day.” I followed a recent one here back to its source, and it’s a nasty site which surprises me not at all (most spam is, and spammers/exhibitionists find ways to get through), but particularly is it not surprising here, for impurity is drawn to attack our Lady in her purity.

  2. Thanks, JustMe. The Akismet catches most of them, but some slip through…
